Capacity Strategic Partnership with Mitsui

Celebrating Our Partnership with Mitsui at the Japan Society Annual Gala

Back to What We Think

Earlier this week, Capacity CEO Jeff Kaiden and his wife Elizabeth attended the Japan Society's annual gala at Cipriani 42, at the invitation of Mr. Sayu Ueno.

Ueno-san is President and CEO of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (USA), with whom we announced a strategic partnership last year. He is also a Japan Society board member and is pictured below standing in the center, alongside Mr. Yasuhiro Sakoh - giving the thumbs up - who runs the Mitsui business unit that works directly with Capacity.

In addition to greetings from NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NY Secretary of State Robert Rodriguez, we were treated to a keynote address by Jane Fraser, the CEO of Citi. Another highlight was the presentation of the Japan Society Award to New York Yankees legend, Hideki Matsui.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the introduction of baseball to Japan, affording the award extra meaning. Did I mention that the award was presented to "Godzilla" by his former Yankees manager, Joe Torre?

The strong friendships and cultural ties between New York and Japan were highlighted throughout the event.

Among a variety of notable attendees, the annual gala dinner was attended by Japan's ambassador to the United Nations, as well as dignitaries from many nations. The sake was also flown in from Kanagawa, Japan for the event...delicious!

Capacity LLC and Mitsui's close relationship is an example of teams from two nations working together to reach mutually beneficial business and personal objectives, both in the USA and overseas.

Jeff and Elizabeth will never forget this evening. It was a great privilege to be a member of the audience and represent Capacity at such a culturally significant event. We thank Ueno-san for the kind invitation and look forward to the Mitsui-Capacity partnership continuing to go from strength to strength!
