One-Click Retail in the Cloud

Back to What We Think

You click and the next thing you know, it's on your doorstep. The process is considerably more complex for vendors, requiring behind the scenes logistics magic. At Capacity LLC we work with the latest in tech to make this happen for our clients. Cloud based computing technology enables retailers to coordinate and simplify the distribution process. Using the cloud, sellers can determine the precise location of the items they're selling in order to determine the most cost effective way to move it to consumers. This was undoubtedly the logic behind the recent acquisition of Shipwire, the cloud based logistics and supply chain management SaaS provider by Ingram Micro. An indication of the value seen in Shipwire is in the identity of two of its early stage funders, eBay and Newell Rubbermaid, the company behind the Calphalon, Rubbermaid and Goody brands. Using Shipwire customers offering one-click retail will have 0n-demand access to warehouses across the United States, Canada and Europe. The cloud logistics and SaaS supply chain market is a hot one. It's a market that Amazon dominates, and  ShipstationTrade Gecko and Netsuite, also play major roles.
