Receiving
Our client's product arrives at our loading dock in a container, trailer, truck or van. We check the arriving goods to ensure that the merchandise has indeed been ordered, and that the quantities are correct. We unload and identify each carton, marking them with bar coded "license plates" that will track the cartons during their entire stay in the facility.

Putaway
Once product specifics have been verified, we sort the cartons and put them away for storage. A storage position for each product is selected based on the quantity that arrives. A high-volume SKU ("stock keeping unit", also refers to a specific product) that is always ordered in multiple-pallet quantities, might be given a space-efficient high density pallet flow rack spot, whereas a slow-moving SKU might be stored in a small slot in a decked rack.

Links to Vendors
By fostering a free flow of communication before product is actually shipped, we can influence the way in which deliveries from domestic and overseas vendors are packed and labeled. This reduces the labor content of our operations. Clients who are able to influence their vendors to comply with our labeling requirements receive a generous discount for receiving goods.
